The New Zoogram

Zoogram has been the Maryland Zoo’s only printed editorial publication since the 1990’s; showcasing animal photos and behind-the-scenes stories. Working as the Zoo’s Creative Manager, I pushed to reform the magazine into a more modern aesthetic that aligned with the developing branding. This saved outsourced freelance costs, converted the publication to sustainably sourced paper, and improved member satisfaction.

Photography became the star of the show. Brand-aligned fonts were used consistently, with attention paid to print size and readability.

In an effort to “walk the walk” in terms of conservation and sustainability, Zoogram ceased printing and launched an all digital version. I redesigned the publication, once again, to suit a scrolling, interactive, web-based medium. Check out the issues at the link below:
